Illinois, KU still top two

Illinois and Kansas remained 1-2 atop the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today men’s basketball polls Monday.

Illinois (9-0) is No. 1 for the second straight week, the school’s longest run ever at the top of the rankings. The Illini received 35 first-place votes and 1,748 points in the national-media panel.

Kansas (6-0) received 22 first-place votes and 1,709 points.

In the ESPN/USA Today poll, Illinois received 21 firsts and 762 points. KU received six firsts and 746 points.
