Norman, Okla. ? No one needs to tell Kansas University’s softball team how difficult it is to win on the road … in Big 12 Conference play, anyway.
Against league foes, the Jayhawks are 3-3 at home, but they’re 0-5 on the road heading into this weekend’s series against No. 21-ranked Oklahoma.
Games are scheduled for 2 p.m. today and 1 p.m. Sunday at the OU Softball Complex.
Oklahoma is 33-16 overall but 7-6 in conference play despite leading the Big 12 in team batting with a .289 average.
Kansas (27-23 overall, 3-8 Big 12) is last in the league with a .203 team batting average.
KU’s pitching has been solid, however. Both Kara Pierce (15-10, 1.87 earned-run average) and Kassie Humphreys (12-9, 1.69 ERA) rank in the top 10 in league ERA.
