Kansas University senior Jeff Graves might play basketball for the Kansas Cagerz this season.
Graves, a 6-foot-9, 255-pound senior from Lee’s Summit, Mo., is expected to be taken by the Salina pro team in tonight’s United States Basketball League draft.
Graves will try to work it out with his KU professors so he can play with the team that opens the season Saturday in St. Louis.
“I’m just going to go back (to Lawrence) and get my school work and classes figured out. (Cagerz coach Francis Flax) said he’s going to draft me, and the rest is up to me,” Graves told the Salina Journal after Monday’s practice.
“They are great guys and great guys to play with,” Graves added of the Cagerz. “As far as I see it, watch out for the Cagerz this season.”
Former Jayhawk Jeff Boschee is a member of the Cagerz.
