FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. ? Kansas University’s Megan Foster won the javelin throw with a regional qualifying mark of 144-feet, 10-inches, and Kim Clark posted a regional qualifying time of 2:10.26 to place second in the 800 on Saturday at the John McDonnell Invitational.
KU freshman Gavin Ball won the discus with a throw of 161-6. Angela Pichardo won the 800 in 2:18.73. Jamie Waters finished fifth in the hammer with a throw of 164-4, while Adam Fitts was fourth in the men’s hammer throw with a mark of 151-08.
Kansas’ Chris Jones won the 3000 in 8:29.51, while D.J. Hilding was third in 8:36.86. Adrian Ludwig placed third in the 800 in 1:55.15, and Cameron Schwehr placed second in the 1500 with a time of 3:52.22.
Other KU results: Octavia Garret, third, 400, 57.72; Kara Euler, second, 200, 25.75; and Adrian Carey, third, 200, 22.18.
KU will play host to the Kansas Relays, which runs Thursday through Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
