Roberts talks to Miami

Kansas University’s Norm Roberts on Wednesday interviewed for the head men’s basketball coaching position at the University of Miami.

Roberts, KU’s associate head coach, met with Miami athletic director Paul Dee in Dallas as the search for a Hurricane head coach entered its second week. Dee also met with Texas assistant Frank Haith Wednesday in Dallas.

UAB head coach Mike Anderson and Virginia Commonwealth head coach Jeff Capel interviewed with Dee on Tuesday.

Manhattan coach Bobby Gonzalez and one other candidate will be invited to the UM campus early next week, the Palm Beach Post reported.

KU’s Roberts interviewed with St. John’s on Monday and was a finalist for the SMU job, which went to Oklahoma assistant Jimmy Tubbs.
