Kansas City architectural firm HOK has landed the contract for construction of the hall of athletics to be built outside Allen Fieldhouse.
“We interviewed five architectural firms. HOK came out as the leader,” KU associate AD Sean Lester said Tuesday. “We’re working on contracts with them now. The renovations (to fieldhouse) will be tied in with that (hall project) to keep a consistent look.”
Donations worth $12 million are targeted for renovations of Allen and the hall. Cleaning of the outside of the fieldhouse, adding locker room space and improving entryways could start in a month or so.
