Woodling struggles with 3-3 mark for week

By J-W Staff Reports     Oct 13, 2003

After missing two games three of the past four weeks, Journal-World sports editor Chuck Woodling had his worst Wanna Whack Woodling week.

Woodling went 3-3, missing victories by Colorado, Oklahoma and Missouri, and it showed in the number of participants who tied or beat him — 363.

Six people had perfect 6-0 weeks, and because of a rules snafu, two of them will receive a We Whacked Woodling T-shirt. Richard from Topeka and Paul Richardson of Lawrence are co-winners for last week.

Others who went 6-0 were Zach Mauch of Stillwater, Okla.; Rudy Holopirek of Hesston; Will Berend of Richfield, Minn.; and Bryan Stanley of Salt Lake City.

The other 357 entries which beat or tied Woodling were: 31 with a 5-1 record, 148 at 4-2 and 178 who went 3-3.

Make sure to log on to KUsports.com Wednesday and make your picks for this week in case Woodling continues his downward trend.
