College coaches like to say there is no offseason.
Kansas University’s football coaches will certainly be busy in the first two weeks of June. Mark Mangino’s staff will give a one-day camp for high school football players in the Wichita area June 3 at Wichita South High School, and will have another one-day camp for high school players in the Kansas City area June 5 at Blue Valley High School in Stilwell.
Cost for both camps is $10. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at each session.
On June 7, KU will have two camps going on the same day. KU will offer a seven-on-seven tournament for teams of seven to 15 players. Cost is $150 per team, and teams are guaranteed six games. KU’s offensive and defensive line coaches will offer a camp for linemen that same day. Cost is $20. Deadline for application for both camps is May 23.
June 8-11, Kansas will offer a camp for players entering grades six and up. Cost is $209 for overnight campers and $139 for day campers.
