Texas A&M walks off with win

? Eric Scheidt belted a solo, walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning as No. 12 Texas A&M tripped Kansas University, 4-3, Friday night in college baseball.

The loss was KU’s first on a Friday since April 4 against Nebraska, and dropped the Jayhawks’ record to 34-22 overall, 8-14 in the Big 12 Conference. The Aggies improved to 37-13, 15-7.

Kansas scored first when Casey Spanish launched pitcher Kyle Parcus’ offering over the wall in left-center field in the bottom of the second inning. It marked Spanish’s eighth home run of the season.

The Aggies tied the game at 1-all in the bottom of the third on Corey Patton’s RBI single against KU starter Kevin Wheeler.

The Jayhawks took a 2-1 lead in the fourth on Sean Flynn’s single up the middle, scoring Spanish from second.

Aggie catcher Justin Pouk homered in the bottom of the fourth to give A&M a 3-2 lead. KU tied the game 3-3 in the top of the sixth when Flynn singled home Spanish from second base.

Wheeler (6-4) allowed four runs off 11 hits. He worked a career-high 9 1/3 innings.

The two teams will meet at 7 tonight in College Station.
