Former Jayhawk advances in tryouts

Former Kansas outfielder Jesse Gremminger was chosen as one of nine players to advance to the next round of spring tryouts for the Kansas City T-Bones on Thursday. More than 60 athletes attended the tryouts.

Gremminger, who played at KU from 2000 to 2001, hit .277 with eight home runs and 18 stolen bases in his two seasons as a Jayhawk. He had a team-high 42 RBIs in his final season.
