Kansas tennis tops ISU

? Kansas University’s tennis team is getting good in Iowa.

After a 4-3 victory Friday against the University of Iowa, KU (5-3 overall, 1-1 Big 12 Conference) thumped Iowa State, 6-1, Saturday at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Club.

Junior Courtney Steinbock and sophomore Paige Brown beat Sabrina Evers and Suzanne Ruten, 9-8 (7), at No. 1 doubles, and juniors Kristen Steinbock and Emily Haylock pounded Tara Goedjen and Kristin Gyaki, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles.

KU also won five of six singles matches, as both Steinbocks, Brown, Haylock and freshman Christine Skoda each triumphed.

The Jayhawks will play host to Ohio State today at 11:15 a.m. at Wood Valley Racquet Club in Topeka.
