Pinehurst, N.C. ? Kansas University’s women’s golf team was ninth out of 22 teams after Friday’s first round of the Watts Carolinas Classic at Pinehurst Golf Course.
KU freshman Chelsey Pryor shot 78 to tie for 12th place. Senior Tiffany Kruggel tied for 21st at 79.
“I felt like we struggled a little bit today,” KU coach Megan Menzel said. “Not seeing the course before kind of hurt us in today’s first round. I think tomorrow we will be more ready to make up some of the strokes that we are down.”
