Kansas University football player Case Collard and swimmer Gwen Haley have been awarded $5,000 graduate scholarships from the Big 12 Conference.

Collard, a reserve wide receiver from Leavenworth, graduated before his junior year of eligibility. He is a computer science major planning to pursue a law degree at Kansas or UCLA.

Haley graduated in May with a degree in human biology and plans to begin graduate studies in neuroscience at Wyoming.

Collard and Haley were among two dozen Big 12 athletes to receive the grants. They are the first Jayhawks to earn the awards in the last five years.
