By J-W Staff Reports     Jul 30, 2003

? Former Kansas University linebacker Leo Etienne has joined Florida Citrus Sports for a 10-month internship as part of a career development partnership with the Big 12 Conference.

The career development partnership between FCS and the Big 12 strives to give minority student-athletes experience in sports management and administration. Etienne, who is from Auburndale, Fla., will assist FCS in its marketing for the Mazda Tangerine Bowl and game operations for the 2004 Gridiron Classic College All-Star Game.

Etienne graduated in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in business communications. He was a co-captain last season when he was the Jayhawks’ second-leading tackler.
