A close road loss to Colorado and a home loss to Arizona have dropped the Jayhawks from No. 6 to No. 12 in the AP Top 25.
Kansas (13-5 overall, 3-1 Big 12) fell six spots in this week’s poll, dropping behind Big 12 foe Oklahoma State (13-3). The Cowboys jumped four spots to No. 9 while running their winning streak to 14 games.
Texas, the Jayhawks’ opponent tonight at Allen Fieldhouse, moved up one spot to No. 4. Oklahoma (13-3) is No. 6, and Missouri (11-4) dropped from No. 21 to No. 25. Texas Tech also received votes.
Arizona, which defeated Kansas, 91-74, on Saturday by holding the Jayhawks to just 22 second-half points, is still No 1. The rest of the top ten is as follows: Pittsburg, Texas, Florida, Duke, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Louisville, Oklahoma State and Maryland.
