Kansas football coach Mark Mangino may have lost recruit Rashaad Norwood to Kansas State, but he’s stolen a Wildcat graduate.
Mitch Running, a former standout wide receiver at K-State, has been named a graduate assistant coach for the Jayhawks, Mangino announced today. Running will work with the Jayhawk offense.
Running was a four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats from 1991-95, and was named to the All-Big Eight second team as a senior after catching 51 passes for 756 yards and seven touchdowns. He was also the team’s top punt returner, running 34 punts back for 370 yards.
Running, a native of Decorah, Iowa, earned a bachelor’s degree in social science from Kansas State in 1996.
