The rivals.com Web site has removed Kansas City Schlagle High football standout Rashaad Norwood from Kansas University’s commitment list.
That doesn’t mean the 6-foot-5, 211-pound tight end/defensive end won’t be a Jayhawk this fall, though.
Norwood, the top-rated senior in the metro area, orally committed to Kansas but later made a campus visit to Kansas State. KU recruiting coordinator Dave Doren met Tuesday at Schlagle with Norwood, Jeremy Crabtree of rivals.com said in a radio interview.
“I’d say it’s a tossup right now,” Crabtree added.
Kansas and K-State also are battling for the services of Wichita Southeast defensive back John Randle.
The third-ranked player in the state told rivals.com that KU coach Mark Mangino visited him Monday in Wichita, and he expected a home visit from KSU coach Bill Snyder today.
Signing day is Feb. 5.
