Horizontal jumper Shatoya Hill, a senior at Lubbock (Tex.) Estacado High, has signed a national letter of intent with Kansas University’s track and field team, KU coach Stanley Redwine announced Friday.

Hill, a Class 4A state champion long jumper last season, has a personal-long jump of 19 feet, 5 inches. Her triple jump best is 39-5.

“Shatoya will be a great addition to the program,” Redwine said. “Coach (Milan) Donley did an excellent job recruiting an excellent jumper from Texas. We are excited to have her.”
