KU women lose to Missouri, 61-55

Tamara Ransburg scored 19 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked four shots, but it wasn’t enough against the Tigers. The Jayhawks turned the ball over 20 times, hit just one three-pointer and were outrebounded, 38-34.

The Jayhawks led 11-10 four minutes into the game and trailed by just one, 22-21, midway through the first half, but the Tigers used an 8-0 run put too much distance between themselves and Kansas for the Jayhawks to overcome.

Kansas (9-13 overall, 2-9 Big 12) outshot Missouri, 44.4 percent to 42.9 percent, but went just 1-of-5 from three-point range while the Tigers were 7-of-16 from behind the arc.

Blair Waltz added 10 points for Kansas, Crystal Kemp scored eight, Erica Hallman had 7 points, Aquanita Burras scored six and Leila Mengüç added five points.

Evan Unrau led Missouri (13-9, 7-4) with 18 points, Stretch James added 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Kerensa Barr scored 11 points.

Missouri turned the ball over 10 times, once more than Kansas, but was more efficient turning the mistakes into baskets. The Tigers outscored the Jayhawks, 13-8, in points off turnovers. They also outrebounded the Jayhawks, 19-13.

Tamara Ransburg leads Kansas with eight points, and Aquanita Burras has six. Blair Waltz has four points and Leila Mengüç has hit a three-pointer. Erica Hallman and Crystal Kemp have each scored for Kansas.

Evan Unrau leads Missouri with 13 points. Stretch Jones has 10 points, and Kerensa Barr has four.
