Kansas University freshman forward Caroline Smith has earned three honors from Soccer Buzz Magazine. Smith, who led KU in 2002 with 12 goals and 27 points, was named a second-team freshman All-America, a third-team All-Central Region selection and to the Central Region’s All-Freshman team. All Soccer Buzz awards are voted on by NCAA Division I coaches and the magazine’s staff.
Also, KU coach Mark Francis has added another athlete to his 2003 recruiting class. Michelle Rasmussen, an all-state performer at Vermillion (S.D.) High, will join the Jayhawks this fall.
