Chris Dawson, a former Oklahoma football player, has been named head strength and conditioning coach at Kansas University.
Dawson, who spent the last two years in a similar post at the University of Minnesota, replaces Mark Smith, who left for a similar job with the Washington Redskins.
“Chris is highly respected in his field,” Kansas football coach Mark Mangino said. “He knows what it takes to develop quality Division I players.”
Dawson played linebacker for the Sooners from 1991 to 1994. He earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from OU.
