Kansas University’s football program won the recruiting battle Sunday for John Randle when the Wichita Southeast High cornerback picked KU over Kansas State.
The 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back, who also had scholarship offers from Colorado, Missouri and Michigan State, told rivals.com he had made a nonbinding oral commitment to KU.
The Jayhawks, however, lost a recruit when defensive tackle Michael Pruitt (6-2, 280) changed his commitment to North Texas.
Also Sunday, KU received commitments from Tang Bacheyie, a 6-1 running back/wide receiver/defensive back from Windsor, Ont., and Zach Mims, a 6-3, 233-pound defensive end from Hinds Junior College in Mississippi.
Signing day is Wednesday.
