KU swimmers fall to MU

? Kansas University senior Amy Gruber won three events in the Jayhawks’ 157-144 swimming loss to Missouri on Saturday at University Natatorium. The Bigelow, Ark., native won the 50 freestyle (24.12), 100 free (52.23) and the 100 butterfly (56.95). KU freshman Terri Schramka collected wins in the 100 backstroke (57.85) and 500 free (5:06.04). The loss dropped the Jayhawks’ dual meet record to 1-3 and 0-3 in Big 12 Conference duals. KU will play host to Illinois at 2 p.m. Saturday at Robinson Natatorium.

KU swimmers fall at Arkansas dual

? Kansas University’s swimming and diving squad lost a dual to Arkansas, 181-119, Saturday. The loss dropped the Jayhawks to 7-5 in duals this season.

KU senior Gwen Haley took first place in the 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley in times of 2:04.39 and 4:24.01, and sophomore Amy Gruber won the 100 back in 57.55.

Kansas diver Patti Stringham took second place in the one-meter and three-meter flights with scores of 251.55 and 270.97.

Kansas will play host to Iowa State Saturday at Robinson Natatorium in its last home meet of the season.
