By World Online Staff     Dec 16, 2003

Kansas University sophomore Caroline Smith has been named a first-team All-Central Region and third-team All-American selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, association officials announced late Monday.

“This is truly an honor for me,” Smith said. “To have my name along side some of the best players in the country is something that reflects well on our conference and our team. The selection helps propel Kansas into the national scene for collegiate soccer.”

Smith, KU soccer’s first-ever All-American, holds the team’s single-season goal record (19) and is KU’s career goals leader (31).
