Despite a double-digit victory over previously undefeated Oregon over the weekend, Kansas University’s men’s basketball team fell a spot — from No. 5 to No. 6 — in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.
The Jayhawks (5-1) topped the Ducks, 77-67, Saturday at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo., but ended just one of three top-10 teams to not receive a first-place vote in this week’s poll. Big 12 Conference foes Oklahoma (No. 8) and Missouri (No. 10) were the other two teams.
Connecticut moved back into the poll’s top spot after Florida lost twice last week. The Gators fell all the way to No. 15.Rounding out the top 10 were Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Arizona and Stanford.
Texas (No. 11) was the only other ranked Big 12 school, though Texas Tech and Oklahoma State each received votes.
The top 25 teams in The Associated Press’ men’s college basketball poll, with first-place votes in parentheses, records through Dec. 14, total points based on 25 points for a first-place vote through one point for a 25th-place vote and previous ranking:
