Rumors that Kansas University football recruit Scott Haverkamp will miss his senior season are false, Silver Lake High football coach C.J. Hamilton said Friday.
“He’s just got a bruised shoulder,” Hamilton said.
Haverkamp, an all-state lineman who orally committed to KU last month, injured his right shoulder at one of KU’s camps this summer and aggravated the injury in Wednesday’s practice, sparking Internet reports he would miss his entire senior season.
Hamilton said Haverkamp visited a doctor Friday. The lineman will be held out of contact until “Tuesday or Wednesday,” but was cleared to play in Silver Lake’s season opener Friday at home against Centralia.
