KU baseball reveals 2004 schedule

A three-game series at 2003 national runner-up Stanford highlights the 2004 Kansas University baseball schedule, which was announced Thursday by KU coach Ritch Price.

KU will open the season with a seven-game series at Hawaii-Hilo. KU will play at Stanford Feb. 13-15. Other nonconference foes include Oral Roberts, Western Illinois, Creighton and Wichita State.

“In my opinion, this is the toughest schedule in the history of Jayhawk baseball,” Price said. “This schedule is designed to prepare our club for the competitiveness of the Big 12 Conference. If we can accomplish our goal of 35 wins during the 2004 season, our RPI will be high enough to gain a berth in the NCAA Championships.”
