Roy Williams’ departure from Kansas University is raining on the parade scheduled to honor this year’s men’s basketball team.

KU players voted unanimously Tuesday to cancel the parade, previously scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday downtown.

Meredithe McCormick, of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, a parade co-sponsor, said officials had worked hard planning the event.

“I was pretty disappointed,” she said. “We were doing it for the players anyway — that was the name of the game.”ure from Kansas University is raining on the parade scheduled to honor this year’s men’s basketball team.
