Ransburg nets MVP at awards banquet

Tamara Ransburg was named the Lynette Woodard Most Valuable Player at the Kansas University women’s basketball awards banquet Friday.

Ransburg, a freshman who led the Jayhawks in scoring (10.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.8) last season, also earned the Shebra Legrant Newcomer award.

Sophomore Valerie Migicovsky, who was a first-team Academic All-Big 12 Conference because of her 4.0 grade point average, earned the Academic Achievement Award.
