KU track qualifies 7 for regionals

? Four members of Kansas University’s women’s track and field team, three KU men and the women’s 4X400 relay team qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Regional Championships Saturday during the McDonnell Invitational.

KU’s qualifiers were: Kim Clark, sixth in the 800 meters at 2:09.94; Laura Lavoie, first in the 1500 in 4:27.67; Megan Manthe, second in the 1500 in 4:30.91; Abby Emsick, first in the shot put at 46-9 1/2; and the fifth-place 4X400 relay team. Emsick also won the discus Saturday at 157-5.

On the men’s side, qualifiers were T.J. Hackler, first in high jump at 6-111¼2; Brett Terp, third in high jump, 6-9 1/2; and Benaud Shirley, third in triple jump in 50-2 3/4.
