KU’s Jackson qualifies for NCAA Regional

? Kansas University senior runner Anson Jackson placed 10th Friday in the 110-meter hurdles at the Texas Relays, qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Regionals.

The Jayhawks now have five athletes qualified for the NCAAs: junior Jamie Waters, hammer; freshman Abby Emsick, discus; sophomore Sondra Rauterkus, high jump; and senior Vadim Gvozdetskiy, pole vault. Rauterkus and Gvozdetskiy qualified at the Emporia State Twilight meet March 27.

This is the first year the NCAA is conducting regional meets. Athletes must qualify for the regional, where they will compete to advance to the NCAA Championships.

The Texas Relays conclude today.
