The Jayhawks captured the first two games of the match to gain an early advantage and held off the Sooners in the fifth game to secure the victory.
Senior defensive specialist Jennifer Kraft became the Jayhawks’ all-time leader in service aces when she recorded the 135th of her career in the first game of the match. The Saratoga, Calif., native added four more on the evening, including the game-winning point in game five.
Freshman middle blocker Josiane Lima and junior outside hitter Sara Rome led the way for Kansas with 15 kills each. Senior right-side hitter Molly Scavuzzo added 14 and sophomore Ashley Michaels had 11. Lima also contributed 13 digs.
