Kansas University athletic department officials have received some complaints from fans about a pair of planes that flew over Memorial Stadium dragging aerial advertisements during last Saturday’s KU-Colorado football game.
“The FAA has taken away restrictions for flyovers. We have no control over the airspace,” KU senior associate athletic director Richard Konzem explained, noting KU’s athletic department received no compensation from the companies who rented planes to advertise over the stadium.
“One of the planes was pretty loud. We did take some phone calls from fans who expressed some concern. It is something out of our control.”
