Dallas ? Two Kansas University baseball players were named to the 2002 Academic All-Big 12 team, conference officials said Wednesday.
KU senior pitcher Jeff Davis and sophomore left fielder Ryan Baty both were named to the second team.
Davis, an economics major, is a Lawrence High graduate. His five wins this season are the best of any Kansas hurler. Davis also leads the pitching staff in earned run average (3.83), games started (13), innings pitched (89.1), complete games (4) and strikeouts (53).
Baty is a graduate of Wichita Northwest and a communication studies major. He leads the team in batting average (.343), runs (50), hits (68), doubles (20), RBIs (49) and stolen bases.
