Kansas University freshman volleyball player Dani McHenry has decided to transfer to Washburn University, the Journal-World has learned.
McHenry, a 6-foot outside hitter from Shawnee Heights High School has decided to play both volleyball for new Washburn coach Chris Herron, and basketball for her dad, Ron McHenry.
Contacted Tuesday, McHenry said she could not comment until paperwork was completed.
McHenry, the state’s volleyball player of the year after her senior year, led Shawnee Heights to back-to-back state titles.
At KU, McHenry ranked fourth on the team in kills last season with 226. Her 211 digs ranked fifth on the team. She had 21 kills and 20 digs versus Baylor last Oct. 20.
