Jayhawk tennis dumps CU

The Jayhawk women’s tennis team beat Colorado, 5-2, on Saturday for its sixth consecutive victory.

Courtney Steinbock, Paige Brown, Aurelie Bejar and Kim Lorenz won singles matches for the Jayhawks.

KU swept the doubles matches. Courtney Steinbock and Kristen Steinbock won No. 1 doubles, 8-4. Emily Haylock and Paige Brown teamed for an 8-6 victory in No. 2 doubles. Bejar and Cheryl Mallaiah won No. 3 doubles, 9-8.

“This was a good week,” said KU coach Kilmeny Waterman, whose squad improved to 9-3 overall and 4-0 in Big 12. “Everyone has worked well together and we are really starting to jell as a team.”

KU will play host to Baylor at 1 p.m. Saturday.
