Shelly Musser led off the bottom of the first inning with a triple and scored on a single by Lindsey Weinstein, and Kansas never looked back en route to a 4-1 college softball victory over Pittsburg State on Wednesday at Jayhawk Field.
KU scored twice in the first, with Weinstein coming home on a throwing error.
The Jayhawks increased their lead to 4-0 with a pair of runs in the third. Christi Musser singled and scored on a double by Katie Campbell, who scored on a single by Sandy Smith.
Sophomore Kara Pierce pitched a two-hitter to raise her record to 3-4.
The Jayhawks (6-7) will entertain Emporia State at 4 p.m. today at Jayhawk Field.
