Kansas (5-14, 0-6) was led by KC Hilgenkamp with 15 points. Keila Beachem scored 14 and Nikki White added 10 for the Jayhawks.

“I was happy with our effort down the stretch,” KU coach Marian Washington said. “It’s good to see players like Keila Beachem step up. Katie Hannon also did a good job.”

Hannon, making her first career start, hit a career-best two three-pointers and scored six points in just 12 minutes.

Nebraska finished with 40 percent (26-of-65) shooting to 38.3 percent (23-of-60) for Kansas. KU connected on just three of 12 three-pointers.

KU played without freshman Blair Waltz, who sat out with a stress fracture in her right foot.

The Jayhawks will travel to face ninth-ranked Kansas State on Wednesday.
