Tamara Ransburg, a 6-foot-4 forward from Virginia Beach, Va., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Kansas next season.
Ransburg, a native of Kansas City, Mo., chose KU over Connecticut, Old Dominion, Duke and North Carolina. She averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds for Tilton (N.H.) High last season.
“Tamara is a tremendous talent,” KU coach Marian Washington said. “She has great explosiveness off the blocks, is a tremendous shot blocker and an all-around great athlete.”
Ransburg is the Jayhawks’ seventh and last signee.
“We feel we have one of the top classes in the Big 12 Conference,” Washington said.
KU’s other signees are: Erica Hallman, a 5-8 guard from Covington, Ky.; Crystal Kemp, a 6-2 forward from Topeka; Ebony Haliburton, a 5-11 forward from Overland Park Aquinas; Nichelle Roberts, a 6-1 forward from Houston; Alicia Rhymes, a 6-0 forward from Shreveport, La.; and Aquaneta Burras, a 5-9 guard from Central Arizona Community College.
