Former Kansas University football player Sean McDermott was selected as the 14th pick of the Houston Texans in Monday’s NFL Expansion Draft.

McDermott, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end from Arlington, Texas, was selected off the roster of the Tampa Bay Bucs who used him mostly on special teams last season.

While at Kansas (1995-99), McDermott was the Jayhawks’ long snapper.
