KU softball, baseball hit road

Kansas University’s softball team, fresh from winning three of five games in Phoenix last weekend, will be in Las Vegas today for the start of another three-day tourney.

The Jayhawks will meet No. 18-ranked Oregon State and host Nevada-Las Vegas today, Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo and Oregon on Saturday and, finally, No. 5-ranked Cal-Berkeley on Sunday.

Left fielder Christi Musser and designated hitter Katie Campbell wielded the big sticks in Phoenix last weekend. Musser hit .545 with two home runs, a triple and five RBIs while Campbell hit .462 with two doubles and two home runs.

Baseball

KU’s baseball team (1-0) will play a three-day, three-game set at Centenary (3-3) in Shreveport, La.

Right-handers Jeff Davis, Jake Wright and Dan Olson the winner on Tuesday are the probable pitching starters.

Game times are 7 tonight, 1 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.
