By Staff     Feb 12, 2002

Kansas University’s baseball team will open its season against NAIA opponent Ottawa today at Hoglund Ballpark.

The Jayhawks will start senior right-hander Dan Olson, who is healthy after undergoing arm surgery last summer. He went 1-3 last year in seven appearances.

Who catches Olson, though, is up in the air.

Either junior Beau Thompson or freshman Cole Armstrong will be behind the plate against the Braves. KU coach Bobby Randall has not yet decided on a starter.

Ottawa opened its season last weekend with a 4-0 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
