Four high schoolers, including one standout Kansan, have signed national soccer tenders with Kansas University.
The Kansan is Jessica Smith of Wichita Southeast. As a junior last year, Smith set state prep records with 39 goals and 84 points. She has 92 career goals, second-best in state history, with one season remaining.
Also signing with the Jayhawks were Holly Ryder of Plantation, Fla.; Caroline Smith of Edina, Minn.; and Angie Miller of Rockford, Ill.
Ryder has been voted Florida’s player of the year for the last two years, Smith was named Minnesota’s Ms. Soccer and Miller was a decorated goalie in South Dakota before her family moved to Rockford.
