Iowa City ? The Kansas women’s swimming and diving team lost to the University of Iowa, 175-125, Friday, to drop to 7-3 overall in dual meet competitions this season.
Freshman Amy Gruber notched Kansas’ only individual event victory, winning the 100 free with a time of 52.19. The Jayhawks 200 free relay team, composed of seniors Carrie Kirkham and Carolyn Horwitz, Gruber and freshman Jackie Krueger was also victorious, coming in with a time of 1:36.49.
Junior Beth Schryer finished second in the 100 free and 500 free while Gruber, Horwitz and freshman Aly Colver finished 2-3-4 in the 200 free. Krueger led a 2-3-4 finish in the 50 free with Kirkham and Horwitz finishing third and fourth, respectively.
In the diving portion, senior Rebecca McFall led a 3-4-5 finish on the three-meter board with juniors Patti Stringham coming in fourth and Kristi Misejka in fifth.
