Kansas University senior guard Kirk Hinrich was chosen as Big 12 player of the week for his 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting against UCLA in the Jayhawks’ 87-70 victory on Saturday.
Hinrich tied a career high with five three-pointers against the Bruins, went 6-of-7 from the free-throw line and had four assists and no turnovers. He has now scored 20 or more points four times this season, including three of the last four games.
Kansas now has the last two conference players of the week, as senior forward Nick Collison was chosen for the honor last week.
