Kansas University sophomore Aquanita Burras has been named Big 12 Conference women’s basketball rookie player of the week.
Burras, a transfer from Central Arizona Community College, was named MVP of last weekend’s Jayhawk Classic. The 5-foot-9 guard from Fairbanks, Alaska, led KU with 18 points against Texas Southern and 19 against Western Illinois.
