MoKan Football and Rivals.com are reporting that Kansas University’s football team has landed a verbal commitment from Scott Webb, a highly-regarded placekicker from Tulsa Union High in Oklahoma.
Webb has told Rivals.com that he was offered a scholarship on Sunday and he decided to accept.
Webb is rated the sixth best kicker in the Big 12 region and the 18th best overall in the country according to the Rivals100.com rankings. Webb was recruited by Illinois, Oklahoma and Nebraska.
His father, David, also attended Kansas.
This year Webb was 67-of-69 on extra points and automatic from inside 35 yards. He kicked a 65-yard field goal in practice. As a sophomore he took second place at the Nebraska kicking camp losing to a senior.
Rivals.com quotedWebb saying about Kansas: “I think the program will be turned around real quick. I think coach Mangino is an awesome coach.”
