On Sunday, Kansas freshman volleyball standout Josianne Lima was listed as an honorable mention all-league selection by the Big 12 Conference.
On Monday, the Big 12 reported it had erred and that Lima, a 6-foot middle blocker from São Paulo, Brazil, was actually a first-team all-conference pick in addition to being named Newcomer of the Year.
The Big 12 also omitted KU’s Ashley Michaels from its honorable mention list in its first posting. Michaels is a 6-1 sophomore middle blocker from Wathena. KU’s other league honoree was Jennifer Kraft, a 5-5 senior from Saratoga, Calif. Kraft was tapped Defensive Specialist of the Year.
