Andre Iguodala, a 6-foot-6 guard from Springfield, Ill., Lanphier High School, has decided to attend Arizona on basketball scholarship.
Iguodala, who chose Arizona over KU, originally signed a letter of intent with Arkansas last November, then gained a release after the dismissal of coach Nolan Richardson.
Iguodala told the Springfield State Journal-Register he was “real close” to choosing Kansas the first time around and that KU contacted him once he received his release from Arkansas.
“Someone said something about Arizona being so far away, but one of the players told me that once the season starts, it doesn’t make that much difference you’re not at school that much anyway,” said Iguodala.
