The Kansas University men’s basketball team will be honored with a downtown parade Monday.
The parade, sponsored by Downtown Lawrence and the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 4 p.m. and will go along Massachusetts Street from Seventh Street and South Park.
Players, coaches and managers will ride in convertibles. The KU Pep Band and cheerleaders also will participate.
Anyone wanting to enter the parade can call organizer Peggy Johnson at 841-2985. Johnson has organized parades for each KU Final Four team since 1986.
“We’ve set that precedent, that if they make the Final Four, we’ll have a parade,” she said. “It’s chance for the community to get to celebrate their season.”
